ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES
Anger is a feeling of displeasure or hostility. It is a normal, healthy emotion. Just like any other emotion.
COMPONENTS OF ANGER
PSYCHOLOGICAL
The EMOTIONAL component of anger is PSYCHOLOGICAL. How you feel such as sadness, disappointment, or frustration represent the emotional or psychological part of anger.
PHYSIOLOGICAL
The PHYSICAL component of anger is PHYSIOLOGICAL. How your body responds to anger such as; developing muscle tension or increased heart rate and blood pressure as your body releases adrenaline; the "Fight or Flight hormone."
The COGNITIVE component of anger is what you THINK as you experience anger. Your thought process may lead you to think that the entire world is "out to get you" or you have some how been "singled out" and you must react or defend yourself.
In essence, anger is a warning signal that tells you something is wrong in a situation or something is perceived to be wrong.
Ask yourself these simple questions:
- Is it unhealthy to feel angry?
- Why do some people think that being angry is always wrong?
- What causes some people to become so angry?
- What are some common methods of handling anger?
- Why do some people snap over even minor irritations?
- How do I know if I might benefit from anger management counseling?
